5 Tips for Higher Productivity

Feeling accomplished and productive is wonderful. However, usually at the end of your work days you either feel unsatisfied with what you have accomplished, or overwhelmed with the massive loads of work that you cannot seem to find a start for. Being productive is not a mystery, all you need is a set of skills which will be describe in this short article.

1) Planning, monitoring and setting goals

The very first step in achieving anything is knowing exactly what you want to do. Goals should be well defined and realistic. One of the most efficient ways of achieving goals is by breaking them down into smaller tasks. After that is done, assign each task a deadline is required. Finally, set time for your breaks. This will not only motivate you to finish your work, but also prevent feeling stressed or exhausted. Eventually you will have a small “Project Plan” which you can follow and use to track your progress.

2) Put your phone in a cage!
Distractions can come in many forms. However, in our modern days we can say that our smart phones and devices are the major source of distractions. Tons of notifications every day makes it almost impossible not to be distracted.

A good method to prevent this is to put your phone on a completely silent mood, and put it away from you. Work on your tasks for at least 20 minutes, and only then check your phone for a couple of minutes, and back to work.

3) Seek help
Sometimes searching and learning how to deal with a certain problem or a task might take so much time. If you were lucky and found someone who can explain to you and guide you through the process, you will save yourself a lot of time and effort. There is probably someone in your work field with more experience who can help you. Don’t be shy, and go ask them for advices. Then buy them a cookie 😊

4) Develop good habits
Think of our bodies as machines that can work and get things done. In order for you to get the most out of your machine, you need to make sure that it is always in good shape and has enough fuel or power.

Develop good habits such as, regular and deep sleep, exercising, meditating, relaxing, sticking up to your schedules, etc. All of these are very important habits that can significantly increase your productivity and work quality.

5) Reward yourself
After all that work, you deserve a reward! People reward themselves in different ways, find the thing that motivates you, and keep it in front of your eyes. However, if you didn’t finish your project on time, well, you lose the gift. As simple as this sounds, it is an effective way to motivate yourself and to get your work done.

Please feel free to add your recommendations about improving productivity in the comment sections below! Have a lovely productive week! 😊

Inspiring article! One thing that works best for me is going to a place that is very different from where I spend most of my free time. It’s far less distracting :)
